Have You Got Your Speach Ready?

Imagine this,

You have finally achieved your goal. This should not be a stretch of the imagination, as it’s a given that you can do it. All the same humour me. So, there you are on stage in front of hundreds of people, accepting your award. As you step up too say a few words, you look over the crowd. Then you see that it is filled with a couple of people you know. No that’s not quite true, The crowd has ALL the people you know. What to say???? And you think to yourself there are two types of people. Each will have a conversation with themselves.

Type A: “I helped him/ her along their way”.

Type B: “I knew deep down that they would make it”.

The thing is that you stop and think. Both types of people were critical in helping you get to where you are now. Those that offered what appeared as no help, were critical in making you stronger, more determined, more resilient.

You clear your throat and say “THANK YOU EVERYONE!” And you mean it. You realize that you need them all equally.

So take a moment, on your journey to say a thank you to everyone you meet. As they have brought you to this point. Remember, you are more powerful than you could ever imagine.

As always, I didn’t post this to sit on a server somewhere. If you agree with it, use/ forward it to empower someone.

AVARS - Allison, Vaughn Aaron Rhys and Shaira

Picture the scene……….

You are entering a clasroom to take on a new subject. Then from the front of the class, the teacher stares straight at you and screams FAIL!

With a heavy heart you go home, stunned. Your head is spinning. What? How? Why? All go through your mind. Later as the days pass, you review what happened. “What did I do wrong?” You ask.

Then it comes to you, a moment of clarity.  You learn what you did wrong.

With raw determination you re-enter the lecture hall. You stand there, both fists balled on your desk. You glare back and growl your new found wisdom. The rest of the class goes quiet. Stunned as you and the teacher; converse in this foreign language.

The teacher straightens, smiles and says………. PASS.

The name of the teacher is LIFE.

Now re-read the story.

First you fail.

Then you review.

Look Around – You May Be Surrounded By Heroes.

After reading this post look around you. Appreciate the special people around you.

When you look around you, there are heroes in your life. I have the pleasure of working with one such individual. As a young foreman, he took me under his wing. Over the fifteen or so years working with the man, I discovered that management could; and should be fun. We used to look forward to going to work.

A further example of what a hero is, will be described in this example. Imagine how you would feel if your partner came home from the pub, with a ‘new friend’. The friend was down on their luck and struck in the following trap. You can’t get a job, if you don’t have an address. You can’t get a home, if you don’t have a job.

Over the next few months, he helped get this person a job at our company and worked with the individual to find an apartment.

We all like to think we would be able to help another person who needs it. But who can honestly say that they would actually DO it?

The man that I’m speaking of has just lost a battle that he was fighting after having a heart attack over 14 years ago. I for one am indebted to him for the time that he took with me. He taught me things that you will never find in print. i.e. how to spot a person that will be key to the success of a project in a crowd!

I now try to help as many people as I can achieve their dreams. I don’t know all the answers; but I’ll help you look!

As normal, didn’t post this to sit on a server. If you agree, please share and empower someone.

What Does That Thing You Want Look Like?

What are you looking for

A wise man without a map will get lost in any country. Where as a fool with a GPS will not!

Seems that more and more people are ‘looking for something…..’. Whether it be a new job, partner, opportunity or whatever. Then a question hit me : Do you know precisely, what this thing looks like”? If you do not know precisely, then how will you know when it is right in front of you?
Take a time as you go through your day to ponder this thought. The clarity that it will give you will act as a map. It will give you a clear destination. From that, you can decide which route you are going to take to get there.

Success is a journey; not a destination.

As always- if any part of this resonates with you please pass it on. Empower someone
To grow into the person they should be.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

Happy Birthday Clazzy J

Clazzy J

(Pictured on the RIGHT)

This is a little happy message to those who knew him.

Clazzy J Today (September 7th), would have been his birthday. He was a great friend and also an amazing DJ. For years after, if I walked down Acre Lane (South London), or other parts of London, I’d be prepared for him to come bursting out of a shop with endless amounts of energy… Energy for life.

So if you’re reading this remember to say a toast to those hat have fallen asleep. But smile as I do if you weep, you didn’t know him!

R.I.P. Clazzy J (John Edwards). Gone but never forgotten. Happy Birthday mate

If you have lost someone and still hold their memory close, never put off something and say’I’ll do it tomorrow’. They never got today so you owe it to their memory not to waste it!

Who holds you accountable?

I have been thinking about this for a few weeks. I read a quote which read:

“If you want something that you have never had; It stands to reason, that you must do something that you have never done”!

The above got me thinking. If you were going to run an important race, you would get a coach, or personal trainer, right?. Helping you you to do the thing that you have never done, so you can have that which you have not achieved.

The trainer in the example above is holding you accountable to yourself. Looking out for you, ensuring you are staying on track (pardon the pun), to reach your target.

In other aspects of you life you have a Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal (or a BHAG). This is something that, at the end of your life, you want to be able to say I DID IT! So, the question is this: If your goal is so important to you, who holds you accountable?

I am growing a network marketing business. The reason I’m doing this is to be able to be able to see my Grand children (when the day comes). Whenever and wherever they are! The thought of one of them calling for me and I couldn’t get there, wakes me up in a cold sweat!

To achieve my goal, I need to help people. As a direct result, the more I help, the bigger my business grows. Now, with the subject of this blog in mind, I have decided to change from goal setting to goal achieving. I have asked those around me to hold me accountable.

  • I have set a goal.
  • Written it down (On our fridge).
  • Told my Daughter and my Wife, the goal I have set.
  • Rolled up my sleeves.

The people around me love me and will push me to achieve that which I haven’t done. Look around you. Set a goal. Write it down. Tell someone who wants the best for you. report back to them.

I will feed back at the end of the week, how I did with my goal.

As always, I didn’t put this post out there fore it to sit on a server somewhere. If anything in it inspires you, please use it to empower someone else.
